I watched the news about the war in the Republic of Congo and the atrocities committed against the women there. I wonder where does their strength to survive and carry on come from? I watched Phelps win 8 gold metals at the 2008 summer Olympics and listened to him give credit to the example set by his mother. How he was inspired by her passion and work ethic. I wonder where does her strength to provide for her children and sacrifice her own desires come from? I look back at the generations of women in my own family and am amazed at their strength and courage and wonder where did that strength come from?

I know their strength comes from Dignity, Faith, Grace, Hope, Joy, and Love.
